Why Podcasting?

There are now over two million podcasts worldwide. With more listening content than you could cover in a lifetime surely the podcast market is getting overcrowded? Is it worth starting one of your own?

I would argue yes for the simple reason that it remains one of the most effective means of building connection with your audience, ultimately driving engagement by involving them directly in what you do or at the very least in the stories that you are telling or content that you produce.

Podcast listeners are highly engaged and are likely to click through to your website, react to your social media and ultimately become closer to your brand. Successful podcasts engage their listeners in an inclusive and relaxed manner and make them feel comfortable. Trust and openness are important for higher engagement.

If business engagement is about building relationships then podcasts are a fantastic way of driving the construction and development of these relationships. Your podcast may engage with new or existing clients or customers or indeed increase your social reach. Podcasting is about storytelling as much as anything, no matter what your content or driver for content is, and these stories encourage listeners to come back again and again.

A good podcast establishes your business as a leader in your field and can profile your expertise and authority.

Podcasting is expected to grow significantly yet again in 2022 so why not consider riding the wave and starting your own podcast now?
