Why should you set goals in 2023?
Are you the person who makes a new year’s resolution but forgets what it is by week three of the year?
Here we are not talking about resolutions, but goals. A goal is an intentional declaration of what you want to accomplish in a set year. If you remain focussed on achieving the goal, and take small steps daily to work towards it, you WILL achieve it. It’s as simple as that.
For the past three years I have been on a personal journey to experiment with setting and achieving goals. I have found a direct correlation (unsurprisingly if you think about it) between working towards the goal and remaining focussed on the one side and achieving the goal on the other. Whenever I lose motivation and stop working towards the goal, I stray from it and I won’t achieve that goal. This could be in any area of life - from work, to fitness, to relationships and family. It really is this simple. Stay focussed and motivated and you wil achieve the goal.
Goal setting helps to give you clarity of what you want to achieve.
By writing a goal down it helps to give you motivation to achieve it.
Having goals gives a sense of purpose.
Having goals will improve your life.
Having goals makes sure that you don’t just drift through life aimlessly.
